What is the tithe?
“Tithe” literally means tenth or 10%. Although the tithe was part of the law of Moses (Leviticus 27:30-34), the original tithe was given by Abraham long before that law was set in place (Genesis 14:19-20).
Abraham gave a tithe to Melchizidek in response to the blessing of God on his life. Jacob too, tithed before there ever was a law to tithe, in response to a dream he had (Genesis 28:20-22).
Why tithe?
Jesus said the top competitor for our commitment to Him would be greed and the love of money (Matthew 6:24). Greed creates separation of relationships, with both God and others. To help us deal with greed and it’s repercussions, God made a plan for us to give a portion of our income to Him. This is called the tithe. When we give our tithe to God through the local church, we put God first in our lives. Our tithe not only helps us deal with greed, but God also promised that our tithe makes the way for His blessing in our lives.
BEYOND
YOUR
TITHE
This is anything you give above 10 %. The Bible encourages us to give offerings beyond our tithe to specific projects at our local church and causes that we personally believe in. (Amos 4:4-5). Offerings are your opportunity for generosity.
MISSIONS
We are part of a family of church planting ministries, associated with Victory Churches International. Our reach is across 30 nations. We plant apostolic churches and Bible schools. We are involved in establishing children’s homes, slum schools, safe homes, sewing schools and more to help share the love of Jesus in as many nations as possible.
How to give
Financial gifts can be made through Paypal or directly into the ministry bank account (please see details below). Another option is to purchase items and bring them to the ministry centre. In addition, we are always in need of second hand clothing, household items, school & art supplies and toys. What we can’t use at the centre, we will give to those in need.
For more information on items that are needed, please contact us.
